The Chamomile got its name from a Greek word which means earth apple? & many other words that meant apple since the plant often has a distinguishable apple-like scent. There are many names of the Chamomile like wild Chamomile, Hungarian chamomile, pineapple weed & scented mayweed.
Dried Chamomile adds orangey, floral notes but may become astringent if over used. It is always recommended to use the amount indicated in your receipe. Typical additions can be 1 oz. up to 4 oz. in a 5 gallon batch, added during the last 5-10 minutes or at flame out.
